**Per Addendum 1 the bid date has been extended from 10/23/25 to 10/31/25** School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors for the design, fabrication, and installation of two pre-engineered extruded aluminum canopy walkway systems at Piney Woods Elementary School (814 Amicks Ferry Road, Chapin, SC 29036). The scope of work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to provide two complete and functional canopy systems, including footings and lighting. GENERAL INFORMATION: School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties encompass an area of approximately 196 square miles, approximately one-half of which is situated in both Lexington and Richland Counties. The School District consists of the northern portion of Lexington County north of Lake Murray and the Saluda River and the northwestern portion of Richland County south of the Broad River. The School District is primarily a residential suburb located to the northwest of the city of Columbia, the capital city of South Carolina. The District has a student population of approximately 17,505 and 2,600 staff members. The District currently operates a total of 13 elementary schools, 2 intermediate schools, 3 middle schools, 4 high schools, 1 Center for Advanced Technical Studies and 1 alternative school. The scope of work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals to provide two (2) complete and functional canopy systems, including footings and lighting. General Requirements: 1. Canopy Dimensions and Locations: a. The canopy system shall have an overall width of 8 feet 6 inches (8'-6"). b. Location 1: Approximately 150 linear feet of two-post, U-bent, flat canopy, segmented as required to accommodate site conditions c. Location 2: Approximately 45.5 linear feet of two-post, U-bent, flat canopy. d. Final canopy dimensions and layout shall be verified in the field and coordinated with the Owner prior to fabrication and installation. 2. Canopy Lighting System: a. Provide and install a complete canopy lighting system as specified in the contract documents. b. Lighting fixtures shall be mounted to the canopy beam at every other bay. 3. Footings: a. The Contractor shall design and install all structural footings required to support the canopy system. b. All footings shall be based on geotechnical conditions at the site and meet applicable codes and structural requirements. c. Footing design and calculations must be submitted for review and approval prior to construction. 4. Coordination and Verification: a. The Contractor shall be responsible for all field verification of dimensions, site conditions, and existing utilities. b. The final layout shall be coordinated with the Owner prior to commencement of fabrication. General Description of Work A. The Contractor shall provide pre-engineered extruded aluminum walkway system, including all necessary accessories in their entirety, to achieve configurations and profiles as specified in this section. B. Work shall include design, fabrication and installation of an extruded aluminum walkway cover system in accordance with approved shop drawings.
