Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

GENERAL. This project consists of removal and replacement of the existing concrete/asphalt alley approach at 1014 SW 15th Street. See image 1 on page 3 of this document. The redline indicates sawcuts and limits of removal and placement of new concrete. Aggregate Base shall be placed 6" thick below the 8" Non-Reinforced Concrete Pavement and the curb & gutter. CONTRACT TIME. Work will commence as soon as practical with the issuance of a Start Work Order. Substantial Completion of the Work will be within 14 days from the date the Start Work Order is issued. Final Completion will be 7 days after Substantial Completion. All traffic control devices shall be removed and the alley shall be open to traffic by Substantial Completion. The 7 days after substantial completion shall provide time for a walk thru, punch list, and any clean-up items. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES. Owner and Contractor recognize that time is of the essence of this Agreement and that Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not completed within the times specified. They also recognize the delays, expense and difficulties involved in proving in a legal preceding the actual loss suffered by Owner if the Work is not completed on time.
