Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Casa Loma, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The County of Kern (County) will receive sealed Bids for construction on a highway in accordance with the plans and special provisions therefor to which special reference is made as follows: FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN PATH IMPROVEMENTS ON CASA LOMA DRIVE AND UNION AVENUE AT UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD CROSSING, until 11:00 a.m. on October 22, 2025, at the following locations: (a)Mailed via United States Postal Service to Kern County Public Works Department, 2700 "M" Street, Suite 400, Bakersfield, California, 93301; (b)Delivered in person or by courier service to the Kern County Public Works Department, Suite 400, 4 th Floor, Public Services Building, 2700 "M" Street, Bakersfield, California; or (c) From 10:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. delivered in person to the first floor meeting room of said Public Services Building. Bids will be opened at same date & time. The work to be performed consists, in general, of constructing curbs and gutters, sidewalk, drive approaches, driveways, and curb ramps, paving hot mix asphalt, installing roadside signs, installing handrails, installing fences and gates, relocating mailboxes and roadside signs, reconstructing fences, gates, and block walls, resetting gates, removing pedestrian head, replacing existing section 3 ball head with 4 section head, removing existing 3 section arrow head, removing traffic stripes and thermoplastic pavement markings, and applying thermoplastic traffic stripes and pavement markings. Online Q&A Yes Q&A Deadline 11/13/2025 4:00 PM (PST) Bid form furnished by the County's Public Works Department (Department) and accompanied by bidder's security in an amount equal to 10% of the amount bid in accordance with the provisions set forth under Section The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price and on the County's form. This contract has a DBE goal of 21%. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. If the contract is to be awarded, it will be awarded by the Board of Supervisors to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid complies with all prescribed requirements. County specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, or re-bid, or to waive inconsequential deviations from Bid requirements not involving time, price, or quality of the work.
