The City of Ames is seeking bids from qualified vendors for contract pricing per ton for the purchase of sulfuric acid for the Electric Services Department for a period of six months, with a potential renewal for an additional six months if mutually agreed upon. Pricing will remain fixed through the contract. Each shipment will be approximately one truckload (about 25 tons, 66 degrees BE), with an anticipated 5-6 shipments during the 6-month contract period, though the actual quantity may vary and no specific amount is guaranteed. Deliveries are to be made as requested to the Power Plant at 200 E. 5th St., Ames, IA 50010. All responses must be submitted before the stated deadline. No bid may be withdrawn for at least 60 days after the closing time for receiving bids. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and make awards in its best interest. Submitters must review and comply with all provided instructions to bidders, general conditions, and insurance requirements.
