Ventura Pier Donor Bench Assembly Questions to be submitted via Email September 17, 2025 2PM All questions regarding this Invitation to Bid (ITB) shall be submitted via email to Patricia Zavala, Senior Buyer, in the Purchasing and Contracts Division at pzavala@cityofventura.ca.gov PRIOR to September 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Any questions submitted after the deadline shall be rejected. Any response will be in the form of an addendum. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The City is seeking Bids for a contractor to provide all labor, materials and equipment to refurbish or assemble, install brass plaques and pier donor benches on the Ventura Pier, as requested. Currently, there are 48 pier donor benches on the Ventura Pier. The scope of work includes: Specifications: 8' Cast Bench, 3 arm, IPE Wood slats treated with coat of tongue oil, Frame Double powder coated and coated with two coats of MinWax Quick-Drying Polyurethane, color black, model DuMor #Z98-82IPE A. Pickup bench at City Facilities shop at 336 Sanjon Road, Ventura. Apply two coats of MinWax Quick-Drying Polyurethane to (3) metal supports prior to assembly. Coat the IPE wood slats with tongue oil prior to installation. B. Route and install 2" x 10" Donor Brass Plaque provided by the Pier Into the Future Director through City Facilities. Plaques shall be installed with two-part epoxy. Each bench has two plaques centered on the top slat. Plaque(s) shall be installed within 15 calendar days of receiving the plaque(s) and work order. C. Assemble City-provided Pier Bench per manufacturer's instructions. D. Transport pier donor bench to Ventura Pier and install in the designated location per instructions from Pier Into the Future Director and Facilities department. Bench shall be bolted to the pier deck boards with 3/8" X 3" length, stainless steel lag bolts and flat washers. Bench shall be installed within 21 calendar days after receiving the work order. E. Occasionally, a plaque may need to be installed or replaced on the bench that is installed on the pier. Plaque(s) shall be installed within 15 calendar days of receiving the plaque and work order. F. Removal of a pier donor bench from the Ventura Pier and deliver to City Facilities shop at 336 Sanjon Road, Ventura within 15 calendar days of the work order. G. Bench refurbishment - Remove pier donor bench from the Ventura Pier, disassemble, sandblast, repaint with primer and marine grade paint, reassemble and reinstall pier bench on the Ventura pier. Contractor shall provide estimated timeframe per request and approved by the Pier Into the Future Director and City Facilities.
