The City of Cape Coral, Florida, is seeking proposals for design-build services for Judd Creek water and sewer main extensions from experienced and qualified design-build firms. Scope of Work The City is seeking to engage qualified firms to submit proposals (RFQs) for Design-Build services - the design, permitting, construction and place into operation potable water transmission mains and sanitary sewer transmission force mains connecting the Judd Creek area to the Citys potable water and wastewater treatment systems. Hydraulic modeling of the potable water and sewer force main transmission and distribution piping systems, and condition evaluation of the wastewater collection and transmission system, will be components of the engineering design portion of the project. Installation of potable water mains and wastewater force mains utilizing conventional open cut construction methods as well as trenchless construction methods and potential rehabilitation and retrofit of duplex lift stations will be a component of the building construction services portion of the project. The successful proposer will assist the City with engineering consulting services and infrastructure construction services. Services will be provided under a contract with negotiated fixed fees for assessment of utility extension needs, selection and evaluation of design alternatives, final design, permitting, project management, overhead, profit, and a guaranteed maximum price with appropriate surety bonds. Services will also include, but not limited to, engineering investigations, utility route planning, cost estimating, advertising and administration of subcontracts, start-up, O&M manuals, training, and all related work required for a complete project.
