The project includes the rail portion of a larger terminal expansion project for a proposed bulk soy meal transload facility. The existing rail infrastructure will be rebuilt in several locations in the marine terminal area and the construction of new ladder tracks for train storage, along with the construction of a new double loop rail line between the eastern rail loops and western connection to the main line for access to a proposed rail unloading facility. Improvements include additional switches and improvements to curves and connections to existing rail lines. Construction includes the repair of existing sub grade and bedding and the installation of new sub grade and bedding materials along with new rail, ties and switches. Asphalt and concrete aprons will be replaced or added as needed at rail crossings.
