CONTRACT #5- ATHLETIC FIELD RECONSTRUCTION Unsuccessful bidders who request more than one (1) set of the plans and specifications will be partially reimbursed for extra sets in accordance with General Municipal Law 102 if returned in good condition, with no handwritten notations thereon, within thirty (30) days following the award or rejection of the bids. Any person or corporation who fails to submit a bid will receive the return of a single deposit less reproduction costs if returned in good condition, with no handwritten notations thereon, within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract or rejection of the bids Bids must be sealed in opaque envelope clearly marked with name and address of the bidder, contract name and number, opening date for bids , and addresses to: ROCKY POINT UFSD. The ROCKY POINT UFSD is not responsible for bids opened prior to the bid opening if contract number and opening date do not appear on the envelope. Bids opened prior to the date and time indicated are invalid. Each Bidder must deposit, with their sealed bid, security in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid and all Alternate Bids in the proper form subject to the conditions set forth in the Instructions to Bidders (Section 8).All certified checks or bid bonds must be paid to ROCKY POINT UFSD. Attention of the Bidders is specifically directed to the prevailing wage rates to be paid under the contract, as well as to other provisions set forth in the bidding documents. Bidder will also be required to show, to the satisfaction of ROCKY POINT UFSD the that they are carrying Workers' Compensation Insurance as required by law and all other Insurance in amounts not less than that specified under the General Conditions. Performance Bonds Labor/Material Bonds and Maintenance Bond, as called for in the General Conditions are a requirement of each contract. The ROCKY POINT UFSD reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted, to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid, and/ or to accept any bid in whole or in part and/ or to award or not award the contract, if in the opinion of the ROCKY POINT UFSD, the best interest of the SCHOOL DISTRICT will thereby be served. This invitation is an offer to receive bids for a contract. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a formal contract in the form contained in the Contract Documents. Bids received after the time stated in the Notice to Bidders will not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder. The bidder assumes the risk of any delay in the mail or in the handling of the mail by employees of the SCHOOL DISTRICT. Whether sent by mail or by means of personal delivery, the bidder assumes responsibility for having its bid deposited on time at the place specified. No phone, fax or email bids will be accepted. The bid deposit for hard copies shall be refunded to each Bidder only if the plans and specifications are returned in good condition, with no handwritten notations thereon within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract or the rejection of the bid of such person or corporation. Under this section, the contractor shall repair areas damaged due to installation of new curbing, parking areas, drainage and other construction operations which may disturb existing landscaped areas. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements of the NYSDOT Spec. paragraph in sections of the NYSDOT Spec. titled, "Method of Measurement" and "Basis of Payment" shall not apply. Where the term "Engineer" is used in the NYSDOT Spec., it shall be construed to mean the Architect. o Door Replacement in Various Locations (See Scope of Work Drawings) o Flooring Not Anticipated to be Impacted o Library Renovations Additional testing will be required if the scope of work changes or is different than reported above. o Remove & Replace Existing Bleachers in Gym (AHERA 1074) o Interior Renovations in Principal's Office & Conference Room (AHERA 1052, 1052B, 1052C, 1053, 1053A) Additional testing will be required if the scope of work changes or is different than reported above. o Remove & Replace Existing Bleachers in Gym (AHERA 1074) o Interior Renovations in Principal's Office & Conference Room (AHERA 1052, 1052B, 1052C, 1053, 1053A) Additional testing will be required if the scope of work changes or is different than reported above. o Art Room 129 Renovations (AHERA 1015) Additional testing will be required if the scope of work changes or is different than reported above. A. Provide all labor, materials, appliances, tools, services, scaffolding, hoisting, support and supervision for furnishing and installing all plumbing work as shown on the Contract Drawings and specified herein. B. Work under this section shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Procurement of all necessary permits and approvals and payment of all fees in connection with the work of this section. 2. Preparation and submittal of shop drawings. 3. Demolition and removal of existing materials and equipment that are to be replaced or are no longer required as a result of the new work. 4. Cutting and patching. 5. Rigging and scaffolding. 6. Hangers, supports, foundations and bases for piping, equipment, plumbing fixtures and associated appurtenances. 7. All work shown on the Contract Drawings and called for in the specifications. 8. Counter flashing, sleeves and seals for floor, wall and roof penetrations. 9. Insulation for piping systems. 10. Access doors for concealed devices. 11. Excavation, backfilling and site restoration. 12. Preparation and submittal of as-built drawings. 13. Start-up, testing and balancing. 14. Equipment identification labels, valve tags and charts. 15. Preparation and submittal of operating and maintenance manuals. A. Provide all labor, materials, appliances, tools, services, scaffolding, hoisting, support and supervision for furnishing and installing all heating, ventilating and air-conditioning work as shown on the Contract Drawings and specified herein. B. Work under this section shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following 1. Procurement of all necessary permits and approvals and payment of all fees in connection with the work of this section. 2. Preparation and submittal of shop drawings. 3. Demolition and removal of existing materials and equipment that are to be replaced or are no longer required as a result of the new work. 4. Cutting and patching. 5. Rigging and scaffolding. 6. Hangers, supports, foundations and bases for piping, ductwork and equipment. 7. Flashing, counter flashing, sleeves and seals for floor, wall and roof penetrations. 8. Vibration isolators for piping, ductwork and equipment. 9. All work shown on the Contract Drawings and called for in the Specifications. 10. Insulation for piping, ductwork and equipment. 11. Furnishing of access doors for concealed devices. 12. Automatic temperature controls including all control wiring and pneumatic work. 13. Furnishing of motor starters. 14. Preparation and submittal of as-built drawings. 15. Start-up, testing and balancing. 16. Equipment identification labels, valve tags and charts. 17. Preparation and submittal of operating and maintenance manuals. A. The contractor shall provide a complete installation of all the electrical systems, electrical equipment, and fixtures as shown and as hereinafter specified, and/or required to make a complete and satisfactory operating electrical installation. B. It is not the intention of the specifications to describe or the drawings to show in detail all the various pieces of apparatus, equipment, fixtures and their connections. Furnish all equipment, material, and install all equipment in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and current standards of good practice. C. Provide and perform in a workmanlike manner all labor and materials necessary and, required in completing the entire electrical work as shown on the accompanying drawings and as outlined in the following specifications. All work shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code, all local, state and national codes and authorities having jurisdiction in this area. These organizations shall include but not be limited to the NFPA, New York State Building Code, The New York State Education Department standards of the New York Fire Insurance Rating Organization, National Fire Insurance Rating Organization, and the American Standards Association. D. The electrical contractor is responsible for the electrical demolition at the proposed site. The demolition shall include but not be limited to the removal of all unused conduit and conductors. Where existing circuits to remain are affected by the demolition, the electrical contractor shall rewire as necessary to maintain service to wiring not intended to be demolished. Revise panel schedule of affected circuiting, where applicable. Relocate any existing electrical equipment to allow for the installation of new equipment, as necessary. Coordinate demolition with architectural drawings and existing field conditions. E. Where new lights are to be installed on existing ceilings, the electrical contractor is required to relocate existing devices on the ceilings to accommodate the new lighting layout. Provide & install additional boxes, conduit & conductors to modify locations of existing equipment as necessary to facilitate the installation of the new lights. F. Where new lights are to be installed on new ceilings, the electrical contractor is required to relocate existing devices on the ceilings to the new ceiling to accommodate the new lighting layout. Provide & install additional boxes, conduit & conductors to modify locations of existing equipment as necessary to facilitate the installation of the new ceiling and lights. G. Where conduits and conductors are required in the floor, the electrical contractor is required to core, drill, cut & patch floor to the satisfaction of the architect. Where there is a floor below the work being done, the electrical contractor is responsible for replacing ceiling tiles, cutting ceiling / floor and fire stopping all new openings. H. The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, tools, supervision, etc. required to install complete operational electrical systems as described in these plans and specifications. Such installations shall include but are not specifically limited to the following: 1. New panel boards, circuit breakers, fuses, safety switches, etc. as shown and specified. 2. New lighting fixtures & lighting sensors / controls, including all hardware & devices for mounting. 3. New wiring devices & device plates. 4. Power wiring & line voltage control wiring to new heating & ventilating equipment as indicated. 5. Modifications and extensions of existing fire alarm system as shown including modifications to fire alarm control panel. 6. Modifications & extension of existing sound & intercom systems. 7. Modifications & extension of existing clock system as indicated. 8. Cutting, chopping, rough & finish patching, including painting. 9. Removal & replacement of ceiling tiles required for the installation. 10. Temporary light & power for all trades. 11. Clean up & disposal of all construction material created by the work of this contract. 12. Cutting, channeling, coring and chasing required for accommodating the installation of electrical work and rough patching. 13. Maintenance in proper operations of existing base building systems within the contract area in accordance with the requirements of the building.
