Waiehu Heights Wells Development The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials, and equipment as necessary to convert the newly-constructed Waiehu Heights Well 3 into a production well at the existing Waiehu Heights Wells Pumping Station. The pumping station consists of Well 1, Well 2, a control building, a 300,000-gallon reservoir, a 500,000-gallon reservoir, related piping and equipment, and site improvements. Well 1 is not in use and will be replaced by Well 3, while Well 2 will remain in service. The work involves installation of a 1,000-gallon per minute deep well turbine pump for Well 3, and construction of well pump piping including mechanical and electrical systems, a 640-square foot control building, a 367-square foot emergency generator building with an attached 328-square foot fuel tank enclosure, an emergency generator with an external fuel tank, and related site improvements and upgrades to the existing pumping station. Site improvements and upgrades consist of site grading, paved access driveways, storm drainage system, perimeter fencing, and mechanical and electrical upgrades for Well 2. The work also involves decommissioning Well 1. Bidders shall possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor' license that applies to the work to be performed, which shall be valid at the time of bid opening. Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount total sum bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui", and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended. The work also involves decommissioning Well 1. This project involves the use of heavy equipment and specialized construction procedures. The Contractor, by proposing to complete the work, certifies that he is experienced and qualified to anticipate and meet the safety and health requirements of this project. Maintain a neatly marked full-size set of Contract and shop drawings which show the actual installed condition, layout and dimensions of completed Work. Drawings to include information about all new or modified piping, conduit, structures, and facilities. Bury and conceal work such as piping, conduit and cables to burial depth and horizontal and vertical dimensions to permanent surface improvements or site coordinate points shown on the drawings. The primary purpose of these as-built documents is to provide accurate information for the future operation, maintenance, and modification of the facilities. It is especially important to record the actual installed conditions for concealed systems, and materials. Typical concealed system include, but are not limited to, piping, conduit, and cable. At the completion of work, prior to final payment, submit all record drawings to the Department. Work includes but is not necessarily limited to preparing pavement base and providing hot mix asphalt paving. Work includes but is not necessarily limited to providing cast-in-place Portland cement curb, gutter, sidewalk, and other site concrete work. Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to providing chain link fences and gates, including, footings, posts, rails, fabric, and other items for a complete installation. The Contractor shall supply, furnish, and pay for all labor, transportation, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to construct in place and complete all work as shown and called for in the Contract Documents (as defined in Paragraph 1.04 of the General Conditions). Contract Documents are maintained and on file in the office of the Director of Finance of the County of Maui, and all of the documents are hereby incorporated by reference as if fully repeated herein and made a part of this Contract. Provide all articles, materials, equipment, operations, and services herein or on drawings, including all labor, materials, taxes, fees, insurance, and incidentals required to insure completion. Furnish, deliver, connect and test one (1) brand new current production 300 kW (375 kVA), 408Y/277V, three phase, 4-wire, 60 hertz integral skid-mounted diesel engine generator, including integral fuel tank base and weather protected aluminum enclosure.
