Renovation of a mixed-use development in Brevard, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 4,664-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; and museum.
Cradle of Forestry Complex Disaster Recovery Building Repairs & Pisgah District Office Rafter Tails Repairs Project Locations 1. Cradle of Forestry in America: 11250 Pisgah Hwy., Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 2. Pisgah District Office: 1600 Pisgah Highway, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 Period of Performance: The Period of Performance for the Work shall be 90 days from Notice to Proceed. Summary of Work - Cradle of Forestry Buildings Repairs A. Exterior Work (Activity Building - 1,364 sq.ft.) 1. Remove both valley ridge caps, clean underneath and refasten with new butyl sealant on Cradle Activity Building roof. 2. Replace exterior door trim on all 3 entry doors on Cradle Activity Building. 3. Apply microbial biocide for mold and pressure wash exterior of Cradle Activity Building. (Reference Product: Mold Armor Rapid Clean Remediation) 4. Caulk where needed and paint exterior of Cradle Activity Building. a. (Includes doors, trim and body of building.) B. Interior Work (Activity Building): 1. Remove all water damaged drywall and insulation in main activity room and closet. 2. Complete mildew / mold remediation. / (Treat area to prevent future mildew / mold growth.) 3. Install new insulation in damaged area. 4. Hang new drywall, tape and finish in damaged area. 5. Paint repaired area. (Walls and Ceiling.) (Paint to be used in Sherwin-Williams "Emerald" series, color to "match existing") C. Exterior Work (Brick Cradle Work Center - 1,500 sq.ft.) 1. Remove existing shingle roof and all underlayment to expose bare wood. 2. Remove the existing gutter over the landing dock. 3. Remove all fascia and soffit. 4. Replace any damaged or rotten roof sheeting. 5. Replace all wood fascia and soffits. 6. Remove and frame in existing skylights. (Includes all necessary framing and sheet goods needed to complete.) 7. Install new underlayment, flashing, standing seam metal roof per attached specifications. (Color shall be Dark/Forest Green, see section for submittal requirements) 8. Install a new piece of guttering and downspout in location of original section. (Size 6", color to match roof.) A. Exterior Work (Cradle Caretakers Residence - 1,800 sq.ft. & (Cradle Residence Garage - 660 sq.ft.) 1. Remove existing shingle roof and all underlayment to expose bare wood. 2. Remove all existing guttering. 3. Replace any damaged or rotten roof sheeting. 4. Install new underlayment, all boots and flashing and install new standing seam metal roof per attached specifications. (Color as above.) 5. Install new guttering and downspouts. (Size 6", color to match roof.) D. Exterior Work (Dormitory): 1. Apply microbial biocide for mold and pressure wash building. 2. Install new boots, flashing and sealant for two plumbing vents in metal roof. E. Interior Work (Dormitory): 1. Remove all water damaged drywall and insulation in bathroom. 2. Complete mildew / mold remediation. / (Treat area to prevent future mildew / mold growth.) 3. Install new insulation in damaged area. 4. Hang new drywall, tape and finish in damaged area. 5. Paint repaired area. (Walls and Ceiling.) (Paint to be used in Sherwin-Williams "Emerald" series, color to "match existing") 6. Paint all interior bedroom and bathroom ceilings with mold and mildew resistant water based primer-sealer-stainblocker. (Reference Product: KILZ Mold & Mildew) 7. Clean HVAC Ducts, Dampers, Registers, Grills, Diffusers and Coils per the latest edition of Assessment, Cleaning and Restoration of HVAC Systems, Section 4. Summary of Work - Pisgah District Office Rafter Tails Repairs A. The work of the project consists of making alterations and repairs to all rafter tails at the Pisgah District Office, including cutting back of existing rafters, reframing, construction of new 4"x6" fascia board, flashing, and sealing and staining.
