Progressive Design-Build Services for the Foss High School Renovations project. Project Information: Tacoma Public Schools is planning to release an RFQ in mid-October 2025 for Progressive Design-Build (PDB) Services for the proposed Foss High School Renovations project. The alternate public works design-build contracting procedure authorized in RCW 39.10.300 through 39.10.330 will be utilized for the project. Qualified firms with previous PDB project delivery experience are encouraged to submit. The funding for this project was included in a Capital Bond that was passed by the voters of the City of Tacoma in February of 2024. This project will generally involve the replacement of flooring and repainting at select classrooms throughout the building, upgrading the lighting system to LED throughout the building, and select miscellaneous renovations within the facility. As part of Tacoma School District's commitment to investing in the community, as documented in its 2016 Community Inclusion Commitment, contractors on District projects will be expected to implement an outreach plan to attempt to meet or exceed the District's utilization goals of ten percent (10%) certified minority-owned businesses, six percent (6%) certified women-owned businesses, and five percent (5%) certified small business enterprises and thirty percent (30%) local businesses on this project, based on the prime contractor's total contract dollar amount. "Local" business is defined as having headquarters, or a significant, permanent and fully staffed branch office located in in Pierce County, Washington.
