Location: District2 Scheduled and Emergency Impact Attenuator Installation and Repairs at Various Locations District: 2 Project Type: Impact Attenuators A Proposal Guaranty in the amount of 5% of the value of the bid is required. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Department in the Impact Attenuators Category tobid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not pre-qualified by the Department prior to the opening of Proposals. MADOT: Scheduled and Emergency Impact Attenuator Installation and Repairs at Various Locations M/WBE Participation Goal 0 % The work to be done under this contractshall consist of furnishing personnel, materials and equipment to replace, or repair Impact Attenuators (Crash Cushions) on various highways, within District 2. Types of existing Impact Attenuators may include, but are not limited to, Fitch (Sand) Barrels, Energite (Sand) Barrels, Guardrail Energy Absorbing Terminal (GREAT) Systems, QuadGuard, Dry Hex-Foam Sandwich Barrier Systems, Trinity Attenuator Crash Cushions (TRACC), TAU-II and Smart Cushion Crash Cushion Systems. Attention is directed to Engineering Directive E-20-004. For any permanent impact attenuator that is found to be damaged beyond repair shall be replaced with a MASH compliant permanent impact attenuator. If there are no appropriate MASH compliant impact attenuators available, MassDOT will allow appropriate NCHRP-350 compliant systems to be installed as directed by the Engineer. The work referred to herein is in DISTRICT 2 in Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester Counties, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and is shown by the locus map (Document 00331) in the Proposal Pamphlet, the work locations extend as follows: at Various Locations Question Deadline 10/21/2025 at 3:00 PM ET Prospective bidders are required to submit all questions to the Construction Contracts Engineer by 3:00 P.M. on the Tuesday of the previous week before the scheduled bid opening date. Any questions received after this time will not be considered for review by the Department. Contractors should email questions and addendum acknowledgements to the following email address massdotspecifications@dot.state.ma.us The MassDOT project file number and municipality is to be placed in the subject line.
