General Contractor Bid Request: The George Washington Carver Community Center is requesting proposals from qualified General Contractors for Phase 2 of the Additions and Renovations project at 7 Academy Street. Project Overview: The Scope of the Construction Project consists of: New Front Addition: A two-story front addition (approx. 1,020 SF) including: New building entry and reception area New elevator and stairs along with reconfiguration of office space in the existing building adjacent to the space. Interior Renovations (approx. 4,452 SF): Renovation of 1st and 2nd floor bathrooms (2,125 SF) and building hallway and existing stair upgrades (2,327 SF) Relocation of electrical panels in the rooms adjacent to the gym and renovation of the gym storage room Full MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) upgrades are part of this renovation. Exterior Site Work: Parking lot repaving, new sidewalks, and landscaping are included. Each firm will attend an initial site walk will be scheduled (date TBD). Project Financing: This project is funded by the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Bond Grant.
