Remodeling of a fitness / recreation center in Houghton, Michigan. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade fitness / recreation center.

The project consists of a single contract for the construction and remodel of two separate locker rooms with a restroom between them. The full scope of work can be found in the drawings. This is a Prevailing Wage Project under the State of Michigan Law Prevailing Wages on State Projects, MCL 408.1101 et seq. Prior to bidding, every contractor and subcontractor shall register with the State of Michigan annually. The Project consists of consists of a single contract for the construction and remodel of (2) separate locker rooms with a restroom between them. See drawings for a full scope of work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Scope of demolition and removal work is shown on drawings and associated specification(s). B. Disposal of removal items is by the General Contractor, except for minor items that Michigan Tech Facilities Management may request. C. The complete scope of the new work is shown on the drawings and associated specifications. D. New work includes installation of new lockers, new cabinets, counter tops, cubbies, shelving, electrical upgrades and modifications and plumbing items associated with new restroom facilities. E. New work includes installation of new flooring throughout the entire space, including underlayment and subflooring where necessary. F. New work includes installation of all new fixtures. G. Other work includes but is not limited to new lights, replacing entry doors, replacing interior doors and hardware, and other minor electrical, mechanical, and carpentry work as indicated on the drawings. H. Contractor shall be responsible for final cleaning of the space prior to the move-in of Michigan Tech. This work shall be done by a professional cleaner with experience doing this type of work.
