Shared School Purchasing Services, on behalf of the Bluewater District School Board, invites qualified General Contracting firms to submit a response to this Request for Supplier Qualifications for the construction of a new Senior School (7-12) in Kincardine, Ontario. Through this process, the Board intends to prequalify up to eight Proponents who will be invited to participate in the Stage II tender. Participation in this RFSQ does not create any contractual obligations and does not guarantee award of any future work. The project will be constructed on a green field site with a building area (footprint) of 73,283 square feet. Total gross area of 111,390 square feet. The property is located East of Millenium Way east of Highway 21 in Kincardine Ontario. The south and east sides of the property are bordered by protected conservation lands. The west side of the property is bordered by an extension of Millenium Way being constructed simultaneously with the school but by others. Construction access to the school site is to be via a temporary road constructed at the end of the existing Millenium Way at the northwest corner of the site. The school building is two-storey and contains 26 general classrooms, 5 Science Labs, 2 Arts Rooms, Music room, Drama Room, 2 Special Ed rooms, a Cafetorium, Library and a Triple Gymnasium with Exercise and weight room. The floor plan is linear with the main entrance located near the centre of the plan. Upon entry into the double height Lobby with the Administrative Offices adjacent and the Cafetorium directly in front. To the north the wing is dominated by the Technology labs and the south the Wing is dominated by the triple gymnasium, but also houses the grade 7 & 8 classroom wing. The upper floor is anchored in the centre by the double height lobby and to the north the wing is dominated by the Science Labs and to the south by general classrooms. The design also includes a running track with upgrades to synthetic surface, artificial turf field, bleachers, storage building and exterior lighting called for as separate price options.
