Renovation of a water / sewer project in Memphis, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The project scope is to replace the existing roof on the aerator building including the installation of a roof hatch and ladder to access the roof at the Allen Pumping Station located at 709 East Dison Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. The contractor is to furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, and material necessary as required. All sealed bids, bid bonds, and completely filled out bid envelopes will be received at the Contracts Management Office. Only hard copies will be accepted; electronic bids are not accepted. All bidders must be licensed contractors as required by Title 62, Chapter 6, of the Tennessee Code Annotated. The contractor's license number, expiration date, and applicable classification must be completed on the outside of the bid envelope, otherwise the bid will not be opened or considered. The required contractor's classification shall be BC or BC-21, or any other Tennessee approved contractor's license applicable to the project. For bids under $25,000, the phrase "exempt from licensing requirement" must appear in the Tennessee license number space on the bid envelope and other required information must be completed. Bidder's qualifications must be submitted by reference letter, indicating the contract number and title on the front page. A mandatory site visit is required to qualify to bid. Local bidding preference or local bidding presence may be used if the required documentation is provided. Before execution of the contract, a performance bond equal to 100% of the bid price and a payment bond of at least 25% of the bid price must be furnished. Bond sureties must be acceptable to the owner. Bids may not be withdrawn for 120 days after opening. The owner reserves the right to reject bids, waive minor irregularities, and accept any bid or portion thereof deemed favorable in the owner's sole discretion.
