Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in North Fair Oaks, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Redwood City is seeking experienced and qualified firms to provide inspection services for the construction of the Hoover Park Renovation Project. Construction is set to commence by January 6, 2026. Specific questions concerning the RFP should be submitted via email to the RFP Coordinator, as follows. Questions should clearly identify the relevant section of the RFP related to the question being asked. Questions regarding the information contained in the RFP document must be submitted in writing, by email to: Nyal Nunn, Assistant Engineer, nnunn@redwoodcity.org All questions must be received by 3:00 p.m. PT on October 8, 2025. Receipt of questions will be acknowledged via email to the sender. City responses to all questions received by the specified time will be distributed by October 10, 2025 (one week prior to Proposal due date). Anonymity of the source of specific written questions will be maintained in the written responses. Anonymous responses to all questions will be posted on the City Website. A clarification addendum will be issued, if necessary. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project involves complete renovation of an existing 3 1/2 acre park located on the east side of Woodside Road (SR 84), between Spring Street and Hilton Street in Redwood City, CA. The work includes removal of an existing in-ground pool and attendant pool building, with installation of new splash pad, playground, dog park, and pickleball, volleyball, and fitness courts. Additionally, the renovation covers associated paving and utility work including, but not limited to, asphalt parking, concrete curb and sidewalk, irrigation system, domestic water supply, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and stormwater treatment. Work also includes coordinating park renovations with outside contractors for removal and relocation of the existing restroom building, as well as installation of a new restroom building. In order to comply with HUD required timelines, onsite construction shall commence by no later than January 5, 2026. Work shall be substantially completed within 300 Calendar Days from the date when Contract Time commences to run. Work shall be finally completed within 365 Calendar Days from the date when Contract Time commences to run. The Engineer's Opinion of Probable Costs is approximately $6,000,000 - $7,000,000. BID ALTERNATES: A. Bid alternates are identified as follows: 1. Alternate 1: Pickleball Courts 2. Alternate 2: Volleyball Court 3. Alternate 3: Fitness Court 4. Alternate 4: Planting 5. Alternate 5: Site Furnishings 6. Alternate 6: Restroom Demolition B. The determination of lowest bid shall be based upon: 1. Base contract bid plus those alternates specifically identified above, in the order in which they appear, up to $7,000,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
