6% - MBE, 8% - WBE Question Deadline 10/24/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The Project consists of constructing new 6-inch and 8-inch water mains within the existing subdivision boundaries as well as an 8-inch transmission main connecting the existing wells to the neighborhoods. Work will include new valves, bends, fittings, fire hydrants, water meters, and connections to the existing water services. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. Work under the proposed Project Contract shall be commenced within ten calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed, and the work shall be substantially completed on or before November 1, 2026, and completed by November 15, 2026, subject to any extension of time which may be granted by the Owner. No pre-bid conference will be held. The Engineer's cost estimate for this project (exclusive of engineering, legal, advertising, and miscellaneous costs) is $1,850,000. The Contractor's bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check shall be in an amount of 5% of the Engineer's estimate ($92,500) made payable to the Treasurer of Sanitary and Improvement District No. 38 of Sarpy County, Nebraska. The certified or cashier's check may be cashed by the Owner, or the bid bond forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract and file an acceptable bond satisfactory to the Owner assuring the faithful fulfillment of the Contract and maintenance of said improvements, as required by law, within ten days after the acceptance of the Contractor's bid. No Bidder shall withdraw his Bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interest of the Owner.
