SCOPE OF WORK GUIDELINES o Bid is for Mt. Iron-Buhl School District building located at 8659 Unity Dr., Mt. Iron, MN 55768 o Building must be cleared of snow and salted/sanded o If snowfall is at least 1-1/2 inches, the Snow Removal Company should plow the driveways, parking lots and fire lanes. This should automatically be done by the Snow Removal Company. There will be no communication or telephone call from the school district. o On occasion, the district may want the parking lots, driveways and fire lanes plowed if there is less than 1-1/2 inches of snow. This may be authorized by a telephone call from Principal Adam Nelson or Superintendent Dr. Reggie Engebritson. o The Snow Removal Company will be responsible for salting and sanding all driveways and parking lots as needed to maintain safe walking and driving surfaces. There will be no communication or telephone call from the district. The District's maintenance staff will be responsible for all sidewalks utilizing District owned equipment unless the District contacts the Snow Removal Company directly for help on a time and equipment charge basis. o Weekend snowfalls will be treated the same as weekday snowfalls. Scheduled events occur on weekends and our sites must be plowed. o The District will notify the Snow Removal Company as soon as possible if school has been closed for the day. Two cell numbers for the Snow Removal Company must be given to the District at the start of the contracted season. The Snow Removal Company will also have access to two District contacts, currently designated as Principal Adam Nelson and Superintendent Dr. Reggie Engebritson. o The Snow Removal Company cannot subcontract snow removal to another contractor without written permission from the school district. o Any damage that is done to District grounds, signs, sidewalks, curbs, parking lots, etc. must be repaired by the Snow Removal Company. This repair must take place within 30 days of the District's notice to the Snow Removal Company. o The Snow Removal Company agrees to maintain an active commercial liability insurance policy for the duration of this snow removal contract, agreeing to namethe District as "additional insured" on their commercial liability policy. The District agrees to indemnify and hold the Snow Removal Company harmless against any and all claims of loss or damage, save for cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Snow Removal Contractor, their employees, or their approved subcontractors. o Billing will be itemized with date and type of service performed per occurrence. If conditions are questionable, and you wish to have a district opinion, call Superintendent Dr. Reggie Engebritson at (218) 780-4689. Bids must be submitted per the following bid specifications: Cost per 1- 1/2 "- 3" of snowfall: Cost per 3"- 6" of snowfall: Cost per 6"- 10" of snowfall: Cost over 10" of snowfall: Sanding/Salting only: -OR Optional: Blanket cost per season: Please include name of Snow Removal Company placing bid, along with address, phone number, email and contact person information. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all quotes and waive technicalities.
