The project is for the mechanical upgrade and hazardous material removal of Carman Hall at the Lehman College Campus. The work includes replacing fan coil and unit ventilator units, which will be upgraded with units that feature energy recovery, EC motors, fresh air ventilation with controls integrated into the campus-wide BMS system, heat exchangers, water pumps with VFDs, and dual temperature water piping from risers to the fan coils. To accommodate new VAV duct systems and FCUs, new accessible ceilings in corridors and some perimeter rooms will be specified for replacement, and where fan coils are removed, flooring will be replaced. All work will be coordinated to maintain ongoing classes and administrative operations in the occupied building. The renovation will bring the mechanical systems up to current NYC Building Code and NYC Energy Code standards. Estimated construction cost is between $36 million and $40 million. Bidders will be selected after evaluation of qualification packages.
