Sealed bids will be received for Parking Lot Improvements at Ethel McKnight Elementary School. All work and materials must be included in a single Lump Sum Bid. Bidders must use and complete all bid forms and comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the project name clearly indicated. Bids must include a certified check, bank cashier's check, treasurer's check, or Bid Bond (not less than 10% of the Base Bid and not exceeding $20,000) as provided in the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a surety certificate demonstrating that a bond will be provided in the required sum. Bidders and their prime subcontractors (if any) must be prequalified with the NJ Schools Development Authority. The project is subject to New Jersey State Law, requiring prequalification, prevailing wage rates, use of domestic materials, and the listing of certain corporate/partnership names and addresses. A copy of the Public Works Contractor Registration certificate must be provided for both the bidder and subcontractors. Proof of registration with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue, must be included. Bidders must comply with the Law Against Discrimination. No bids may be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid opening. The Board retains the right to waive irregularities or reject any or all bids for failure to comply with requirements. The contract, if awarded, will go to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. No bid is accepted until a formal resolution is adopted by the Board of Education.
