Separate sealed bids are solicited for CONTRACT 225 - HWY 50 TO PAYNE COVE AND CHARLIE ROBERTS ROAD. Work consists of furnishing and installing approximately 32,000 L.F. of 6", 4" and 2" PVC sewer line, valves, fittings, step tanks, air release valves, pavement replacement, and related appurtenances as shown on the plans. The allotted time for construction is 300 calendar days. Bidders must obtain bid documents from James C. Hailey & Company upon a non-refundable payment. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond equal to the bid amount and must be licensed as a contractor of the Hillsville Utility District. Bidders must comply with Prevailing Wage Rate provisions as per the State of Tennessee and the Federal Davis-Bacon Act, whichever is higher. Contractors and subcontractors must not appear on the Sam.gov disbarment list. Mark-ups on subcontractor work or Cost Plus Overhead will be disallowed for reimbursement. A detailed listing of all subcontractors must be provided. No bid may be withdrawn within 90 days after the scheduled receipt time. The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or reject any or all bids. The project is supported by federal funding and is subject to certain restrictions and requirements, including equal opportunity and participation by small and minority-owned firms and women's business enterprises.
