Renovation of an educational facility in Islip Terrace, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,250-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
As of March 02 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. A. The purpose of the project is Electrical switchboard upgrades and interior Renovations. Including the renovation of existing office space, associated HVAC work and new electrical equipment room with exterior access and site work . B. This Section provides an abbreviated summary of the work for the Construction Contracts associated with the Owner's program to construct the project. C. Each Contractor has been provided with copies of all relevant construction drawings for related construction contracts whose work may directly effect and impact the work under this Contract. 1. Each Contractor shall provide a complete and operational project in anticipation of these affects and impacts. 2. It is each Contractor's responsibility to investigate the work that will be performed by others and consider such in the conduct of his/her work. D. In the event that any of the provisions in the technical specifications conflicts with the general conditions, the provision more favorable to the owner, as determined by the owner in its sole discretion, shall govern. Every question or request for such interpretation should be made in writing, addressed to H2M architects + engineers Cole Podolsky, LEED AP 538 Broad Hollow Road - 4th Fl. East Melville, New York 11747 Email cpodolsky@H2M.com To be given consideration, questions and requests for interpretation regarding the bids must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the "East Islip Union Free School District", in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Switchboard Upgrades and Interior Renovations at the Early Childhood Center Certification of bonding company is required for this bid, see Instructions for Bidders. Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening. It is the Board's intention to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder in compliance with the specifications providing the required security who can meet the experience, technical and budget requirements. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board of Education, is in the best interests of the School District. Although the pre-bid meeting and walk-thru are not mandatory, it is highly recommended that all prospective bidders attend the pre-bid meeting or otherwise make arrangements to visit the site.
