Renovation of an educational facility in Islip Terrace, New York. Working plans call for the renovation of a 1,250-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
Sealed proposals are requested for switchboard upgrades and interior renovations at the Early Childhood Center, for the East Islip Union Free School District. The project involves general construction, abatement, HVAC, and electrical work. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form as required by the specifications and enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes bearing the job name, bidder's name and address, and clearly marked with the bid number. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to ten percent of the total bid amount. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality, and to accept the bid that is in the best interest of the School District. All bidders are highly recommended, though not required, to attend a pre-bid meeting and walk-through at the project location. Bids must comply with experience, technical, and budget requirements. Complete bid documents must be obtained from the designated website to be recognized as an official plan holder. Each bidder agrees to hold the bid price for forty-five days after the bid opening. Certification of the bonding company is required. Detailed instructions include processes for obtaining bid documents, returning hard copies for deposit refunds, and requirements for submitting questions about the pre-bid meeting.
