Demolition and site work for a medical facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Working plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade medical facility; and one-story above grade medical facility.
The scope of work includes demolishing the former Kent Community Hospital, which comprises the hospital building, connected power plant, connective tunnel, and designated surrounding pavement and vegetation as depicted on the demolition map. It also involves preparing the site for construction of a new County Administration Building, and severing and reconstructing the Network 180 facility from the hospital building to create an independent, enclosed structure. All hazardous or toxic materials regulated by local, state, or federal laws must be identified, abated, removed, and properly disposed, including but not limited to asbestos, lead paint, and PCBs. All underground storage tanks must be removed in accordance with legal requirements. The connection between Network 180 and the hospital building must be permanently reconstructed to meet building codes while maintaining full operations and access for Network 180. The scope also includes removal of parking areas, lighting, landscaping, and all project-generated debris, leaving the site level and ready for new construction with required backfill and erosion control measures. Site access and traffic must not be obstructed for remaining county facilities, with no staging on Kent Road. Submissions must include an executive summary, business organization information, recommendation focusing on technical specifications, timeline and expectations, detailed pricing methodology for a Cost Plus with Guaranteed Maximum Price, project staffing chart and resumes, and references. Proposals must be submitted electronically as one non-password protected PDF in the outlined format, and appropriate bonds must be provided for offers exceeding specified dollar thresholds.
