The scope of work includes removing and replacing 6-inch HMAC pavement, constructing ADA-compliant ramps, constructing curb and gutter, and completing all related miscellaneous work required to finish the project in accordance with the plans and specifications. Question Deadline 11/05/2025 at 5:00 PM CT The work to be performed under the contract consists of the removal and replacement ofHMAC paving and related appurtenances, along the following streets: Woodhaven Drive, Ray Andra Drive, Woodlawn Drive, and Lakewood Drive in the program. The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications and plans. Before bidding on the project, bidders are expected to inspect all the sites of the work and to inform themselves regarding all site, utility, and roadway conditions. The Contractor will be required to coordinate construction activities with the City. All work shall conform to City ofDeSoto construction standards and in accordance with the contract drawings and specification documents. All Work must be completed within 120 calendar days of the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a reliable surety (with the appropriate "Power of Attorney") or by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid, as a guarantee that bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance, payment and maintenance bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to the company. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond (with the appropriate "Power of Attorney") in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a maintenance bond (with the appropriate "Power ofAttorney") in the amount ofone hundred percent (100%) ofthe contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety ofother surety or sureties acceptable to the City ofDeSoto. The maintenance bond shall be in effect for a period of two (2) years after final acceptance of the work. Please review theRFP documents for the entire list ofbid submittal documents. While use of subcontractors is permitted, all bidders are informed that a minimum of fiftyone (51% ) percent of the construction work must be performed by the General Contractor of record for the project. All bidders will be required to comply with provision 5159a of"Vemon's Annotated Civil Statutes" ofthe State ofTexas with respect to the payment ofprevailing wage rates. The right is reserved, as to the interest the City ofDeSoto may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality in the bids received.
