Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Oyster Bay, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project proposes to provide upgrades to the following locations to maintain their reliability and integrity and help assure the continued safety of the traveling public. 1. Interstate 495 (Long Island Expressway) eastbound to Northern State Parkway eastbound over the Long Island South Service Road in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County 2. NY135 (Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway) over NY24 (Hempstead Turnpike) in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County. NYSDOT Region: 10 Long Island The current status of the project is Future Development. The Bid Opening is expected to be in Summer 2029. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2029. Construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2030. As of October 18, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2029. NYDOT : Bridge Rehab Contract *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability. The project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
