Site work and new construction of a fitness / recreation center in Chester, Nova Scotia. Design plans call for the construction of a fitness / recreation center.
Construction of a new Multi-Purpose Recreation Facility. The facilities that need to be replaced include an ice hockey arena with spectator seating and dressing rooms, a curling rink with 4 sheets of curling ice, kitchen and food service space. Additional facilities for consideration include a practice hockey rink, walking track, multi-use space, sports courts, indoor soccer, indoor aquatics, and commercial/event service space. The proposed facility may be co-located with new administration office space for the Municipality. Scope of work to be determined. TIMELINE: Project is preliminary. RFP for planning and design consulting services has been awarded. The initial plan is to explore options for a new recreation facility. Further update may be available mid-2026. *Cost to be determined.
