Renovation of a mixed-use development in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility; and one-story above grade educational facility.
Sealed bids are invited for the construction of accessibility improvements across Ball, Madison, Jepson, and Combs Halls. The project involves the partial renovation of these buildings to improve accessibility to living and teaching spaces as follows: Ball Hall: Improve accessibility at the main entrance, dorm rooms, kitchen, east and west arcades, first and second floors, and add a new elevator within the building footprint. Madison Hall: Improve accessibility of site access, first floor dorm rooms, and kitchen. Jepson Hall: Improve accessibility at Jepson Science Center Lecture Hall #100 on the first floor. Combs Hall: Improve accessibility at Classroom 139 on the first floor and 237 on the second floor. Instructions to bidders: - The substantial completion date and beneficial occupancy dates are non-negotiable. - Mobilization is expected within 7 days of Notice-to-Proceed. - A bid bond is required. - Bidders must be registered vendors in eVA. - Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, and withdrawal of bids are in the Instructions to Bidders. - The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. - A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held; attendance is required for submitting a bid. - The contract will be awarded on a lump sum basis, considering the total base bid and any selected additive bid items. - Contractor registration per Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia is required. - No printed bid packages; PDF sets are available electronically from the designated contact.
