Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Tampa, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
The Kate Jackson Community Center air conditioning systems are in need of replacement due to age and limited availability of refrigerant. The current systems use R22 refrigerant, which was phased out of production by the EPA in 2010. Remaining stock piles are currently being rationed to meet our municipal demand. These systems are beyond 20 years and at this age, have reached end of life as evidenced by continued condensate leaks onto the ceilings below these Air Handling Unit's rusted cabinets. It is essential to replace these systems. The estimated $616,000 project will start in FY2024 and complete in FY2025. The project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 23, 2025, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
