Renovation of an office development in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade office development.
The work involves replacing 16 TACO pumps that serve various mechanical systems, including condenser water slab, condenser water for air handling units, heating systems, and glycol heat recovery systems. The existing pumps have experienced frequent seal failures, resulting in downtime and high maintenance costs. The scope includes replacing these pumps with new units of similar capacity, considering internal fitted EPT elastomer seals for the new pumps. Currently, 6 of the 16 pumps are equipped with VFDs; the feasibility of equipping all new pumps with VFDs should be investigated to allow for flexibility in capacity and flow balancing, and to achieve energy savings. All work must comply with applicable codes and standards.
