The Kane County Division of Transportation (KDOT) is looking to provide intersection improvements on Montgomery Road at Howell Place, within the Village of Montgomery. The existing intersection of Montgomery Road at Howell Place is under temporary traffic signal control. It is a t-intersection with Howell Road extending to the north and a commercial entrance on the south side of the intersection. There is a multiuse path on the northeast side of the intersection that travels north along Howell Place. The proposed improvement will include permanent signal installation, modernization with mobility and capacity improvements along Montgomery Road at Howell Place. Phase I, II and III Engineering and Construction will be locally funded. This project will be completed under applicable IDOT guidelines including BLRS and BDE manuals, and KDOT Standards. The project is included in the County's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of December 8, 2025, Phase 1 and 2 engineering underway, (engineer identified) Phase 3 engineering 2028, construction 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
