The City of Hamilton retained the services of R.V. Anderson Associates Ltd. to provide professional engineering services for capital upgrades to the existing environmental laboratory HVAC System and Building Automation System (BAS) at 700 Woodward Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario, which the City is now moving forward with. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: - Replacement of existing HVAC system and associated upgrades, to meet current and future capacity requirements; - Upgrades to the existing environmental laboratory (ELAB), inclusive of one (1) new make-up air system, one (1) new exhaust fan unit, one (1) new hydronic boiler complete with two (2) new inline pumps, and replacement of nineteen (19) fume hoods and enclosures; - Provision and commissioning of new 'open architecture' building automation system (BAS) and controls, complete with air balancing in compliance with American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standards, and - Electrical/Mechanical/Structural/Architectural upgrades and additions to the existing ELAB required as a consequence of the new ELAB HVAC system, associated ductwork and equipment. Prequalification of Contractors Required for the Environmental Laboratory HVAC System and Associated Upgrades at the Woodward Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant. The value of this project is estimated to be between $6M and $7M. The anticipated start of construction is Q1 2026, with a duration of approximately 8 months.
