The scope of work includes inspection and maintenance for the Borough's existing wells and high service pumps, as well as all other work of any type or description necessary for the contemplation of the project, whether or not specifically described in the contract documents. All work is to be completed within 730 calendar days from notice to proceed. Bid packets must be completed in the manner designated in the contract documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, and addressed to the Borough Clerk. Bid packets must be accompanied by a statement of consent of surety from a surety company holding a certificate of authorization to do business in the State of New Jersey, and either a bid bond or a certified check drawn to the order of "Borough of Matawan" for not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price amount, not to exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder is notified that performance and payment bonds for the full amount of the project are required. The successful bidder must comply with the statutory requirements listed in the contract documents. The Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bid packets to the extent permitted by law. The award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder in accordance with applicable law, or all bids may be rejected within sixty calendar days after the opening of the packets, during which time the bids shall be irrevocable unless otherwise extended in the contract documents.
