Remodeling of a mixed-use development in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade laboratory facility.

The work consists of, but is not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, and furniture for the Building X Dental Lab Improvement Project. Bidders are required to furnish all necessary labor, equipment, and material. Lump sum bid proposals will be received for this project. Bid security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to 10 percent of the aggregate base bid amount and all alternate bid amounts is required. Performance, labor and material payment bonds, and a certificate of insurance will be required from the successful bidder. Bids must be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety days after submission without the consent of the Board of Trustees. Any bid submitted unsealed, unsigned, by fax transmission, or e-mail, or received after the specified date and time may be disqualified and returned. Harper College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the College. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all contractors working on public works. Bidders must comply with Illinois statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity laws. Contractors must pay not less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. Bidders shall comply with the Business Enterprise Program: Participation and Utilization Plan developed by Harper College, with a 10 percent aspirational goal on the contract. Interested bidding contractors may obtain a set of construction documents upon receipt of payment from the designated printer. Digital copies of the construction documents are also available from the printer at the cost of production.
