Site work for a mixed-use development in Barrie, Ontario. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The City of Barrie is seeking a qualified Consulting Engineering firm to provide design services for infrastructure upgrades in the Allandale 'A' neighbourhood in Barrie, Ontario. The streets included are Jacobs Terrace, Marcus Street, Alfred Street, Campbell Avenue, Wood Street, Centre Street, and Caroline Street. The scope of work includes preliminary design, detailed design, utility relocation recommendations, preparation of tender packages, and provisional contract administration and construction inspection. The improvements will cover road reconstruction, watermain and water service replacement, sanitary lateral and sewer replacement, storm sewer and lateral replacement and upgrades, local drainage improvements, and sidewalk replacement or installation. Only electronic submissions are accepted; hard copies will not be accepted. Bids must be submitted online. TIMELINE: As of December 17, 2025, the Request for Proposals (RFP) for engineering services has been awarded by the owner. Designs are underway. Further update summer 2026.
