Contract work consists of maintenance dredging of the Absecon Inlet federal channel, Clam Creek portion, from the entrance to the turning basin. Approximately 100,000 cubic yards of shoaling will be removed to maintain the authorized depth of 15 feet MLLW plus 1-foot overdepth. Placement involving beneficial use on Boot Island is anticipated and is being negotiated with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Dredging will be performed using a hydraulic pipeline dredge, and containment measures may include turbidity curtains, coir logs, and/or hay bales at the placement site. Dredging and placement activities are prohibited from January 1 to September 15 due to environmental restrictions. The contractor will be required to use the Resident Management System (RMS) and must demonstrate prior experience with dredging projects involving beneficial use placement techniques on environmentally sensitive coastal marshes and wetlands. The estimated period of performance is 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, excluding the restricted dredging period. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer (USACE), Philadelphia District (NAP), anticipates a requirement for the Maintenance Dredging of the Absecon Inlet federal channel, Clam Creek portion in Atlantic City, NJ.
