The work consists of providing snow and ice removal services at the Village of Fishkill Police Department at 4 Wood Place and the Village of Fishkill Fire Department at 1132 Main Street. This includes furnishing all materials, equipment, labor, and transportation necessary for snow and ice removal. Services required are snow plowing (including back drawing), snow shoveling, removal of accumulated snow for disposal to maintain clear flow and parking, removal of ice and ice buildup, sanding and ice treating as needed to maintain bare pavement where possible, and ensuring proper and safe access to buildings, sidewalks, ramps, and parking lots. Prior to the first snowfall, contractors must clearly mark areas susceptible to damage such as curbing and guard rails. Plowing/clearing must begin within one hour after snowfall exceeds two inches and continue after every additional two inches of accumulation. Snow must be cleared from all entrances, exits, sidewalks, walkways, ramps, and parking areas. If necessary, snow may need to be trucked from the site, and the contractor shall coordinate with Village personnel for this. Salt is prohibited on concrete surfaces; approved substitutes must be used. Contractors are responsible for sanding/ice treating all relevant areas and shoveling entrances and walkways to keep them ice-free. Any damage caused during service must be repaired at the contractor's expense. Unsatisfactory service may result in immediate contract termination. Bids should be submitted with an hourly rate for both locations, or alternatively as a per storm or accumulation rate, but lump sum pre-pay season bids will not be accepted. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked as specified.
