The project is for furnishing all equipment, labor, tools, and materials necessary for the renewal of the existing baseball field at Merritt Island High School, located at 100 East Mustang Way, Merritt Island, Florida 32953. Procurement Contact Do not contact any District employee or official regarding this solicitation except the procurement agent listed below: Heidi Dotson Senior Procurement Agent dotson.heidi@brevardschools.org (321) 633-1000 Ext: 11107 The purpose of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to solicit competitive sealed Bids to furnish all equipment, labor, tools and materials necessary for the renewal of the existing baseball field at Merritt Island High School, 100 East Mustang Way, Merritt Island, Florida 32953, pursuant to Chapter 1013, Florida Statutes; State Requirements for Educational Facilities; Rule 6A-2.0010, Florida Administrative Code; and School Board Rules, for the use of The School Board of Brevard County, Florida (School Board). SCOPE OF GOODS AND/OR SERVICES This Specification establishes the minimum requirements for this solicitation, listed and described in the body of these specifications, to be used as noted, by School Board. The intent of this bid is to secure firm fixed pricing and select a single Bidder for the renewal of the existing baseball field at Merritt Island High School, 100 East Mustang Way, Merritt Island, Florida 32953. The performance of the awarded Bidder shall be in accordance with the terms of the specifications and at the quality standards of service set forth herein. The Successful Bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, services and incidentals to complete all work required by these specifications at a rate of progress which will ensure completion of the Scope of Goods and/or Services within the Contract time specified.1. Utility Locates shall be performed before work begins. 2. The Successful Bidder shall strip the existing turf within the fenced area of the field. 3. Roto till the grassed areas, after stripping to 6"-8" in depth. 4. Laser grade the entire field, including the clay area for complete tie in allowing for proper drainage away from the field. 5. Remove excess clay from the infield (if needed). Any excess clay removed is to be stored in close proximity to the field for future use. Storage location to be determined by School Board (Owner). 6. Install new irrigation system including new heads, new lateral irrigation lines, and new valves. Ensure adequate head to head complete coverage of the field. Install infield so the irrigation does not spray over any clay areas. Utilize a Hunter ICC2 timer, Hunter I-20 rotors, and Hunter 2" ICV valves or approved equivalent. Bidder to submit proposed equivalent for BPS approval prior to bid close. 7. A one inch (1") quick connect that is compatible with the schools existing hose shall be installed. behind the pitcher's mound approximately two feet (2') from the back edge of the clay. 8. Refloat after irrigation system is installed. 9. Purchase and install TIFTUF(R) sprigs in the outfield. (6 week grow in to be included) 10.Purchase and install TIFTUF(R) rolled sod in the entire infield and minimum of eight feet (8') from the back edge of the clay. (From the 1st base line to the 3rd base line fence) (6 week grow in to be included) 11.Brown clay conditioning will be added to the infield and groomed in
