The City of Danbury, is seeking to engage the services of a Consulting Engineering firm to provide construction inspection services for the following transportation project: Route 53 (Main Street) and Osborne Street Traffic Signal Coordination. The project is funded by the CMAQ Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Federal Aid Project No. 1034(121). The improvements will include modification of traffic signal controller foundations at 3 locations, replacement of Traffic signal controllers at 12 locations and installation of video detection equipment at 12 locations. The consulting Engineering firm selected will be required to perform construction inspection. Firms responding to this request should be of adequate size and sufficiently staffed to perform the assignment described above. The Consulting Engineering firm will be evaluated and selected based on their experience in construction inspection services, the capacity and capability to perform the work within the time allotted, past record of performance, and knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal procedures, appropriately weighted in descending order of importance. The inspection services fee will be negotiated based on the estimated quantities of personnel time and expenses. Additionally, all interested firms must submit a detailed statement including the organizational structure under which the firm proposes to conduct business. Personnel in responsible charge of the projects will be required to possess previous experience of providing construction inspection services for federal funded projects. Personnel in responsible charge of the projects will be required to possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Professional Engineer's License. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) sub consultant goal is 0% of the agreement value. The selected firm must meet all Municipal, State and Federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices.
