Remodeling of a multi-residential development in Lumberton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade multi-residential development.

Demolition is required only where work is necessary in concrete foundations and walls. The contractor must patch walls, concrete, and floors where demolition occurred. It is recommended to remove floor tile no less than one tile on each side of the cut. Concrete slabs must be cut with a wet concrete saw and by using a sledgehammer or demolition hammer. Loose concrete and rebar should be removed (with rebar bent as necessary); sand and soil should be removed to access lines to be replaced. For outside plumbing, the contractor must replace existing exterior cleanouts, placing one in front of the unit and one at the rear, with both cleanouts above ground (6 inches) and designed for easy rodding. The waterline is to be replaced up to the water meter box in front of the unit. PEX pipe is to be used as appropriate. For interior plumbing, all sanitary sewer supply lines, interior sewer lateral, and interior cleanouts (adding where needed) are to be replaced. The goal is to ensure each kitchen sink has a cleanout. Replacement of soil stack, vent pipe, stack vent, soil pipe, and adaptors is also required, using PEX pipe as appropriate. The work consists of the removal of all existing vertical stacks, lateral sanitary sewer, and water lines. Sewer line replacement will be from fixture (supply lines) to the exterior cleanouts in front and rear, including all existing grease, waste, and vent lines in the existing one-story buildings.
