Site work for a civil project in Savannah, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.

The work to be done consists of the following generally described items: Replace the existing six reinforced concrete pipes under Tremont Road with a triple 10'x5'cast-in-place box culvert. The proposed box culvert will be 61 linear feet and constructed in accordance with GDOT 2403. The project will include cast-in-place wingwalls, parapets and aprons constructed in accordance with GDOT 2404, 2405 and 2406. The box, wingwalls and aprons will be supported on a geotextile and 12 inches of #57 stone. The bid form includes line items for additional undercutting and backfill if approved by the Engineer. The project includes the installation RCP piping in the existing ditches, which discharge through the wingwalls. A sanitary sewer, water line, gas line and data line will be re-routed. The sanitary line will be cast into the top of the box culvert. The asphalt pavement over the canal will be widened by increasing the lane width to 11 feet and including a 3 ft paved shoulder. W Beam guardrail will be included. It is desired to minimize disturbance of the existing slopes. Where required canal slopes will stabilized with 12 inches of riprap over a geotextile. A Fabriform alternative is included. The use of the Fabriform will be determined by field conditions at time of construction. The City of Savannah has established a 20% DBE goal for this project of which at least half (10%) should be met by a Local DBE. A good faith effort must be made to achieve both goals. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond on the form included hereto and shall be secured by a surety company, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to at least 5% of the amount of the bid. A contract performance and payment bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount will be required of the successful bidder. Either a Georgia Contractor's License or a Utility Contractor's License will be required for this project. If the prime contractor does not have a Utility Contractor's License then the subcontractor working on water, sewer, and storm lines will be required to hold this license.
