No definite date for the rebid.** The Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District is requesting bids from qualified contractor's to provide construction of approximately 1,300 linear feet of new barbed wire wildlife friendly fencing, one (1) 12ft powder river gate (1600 tube gates), one (1) 4ft powder river (1600 tube gates) pedestrian gate with ring latch, and removal of approximately 350 linear feet of old fencing, at Palo Corona Regional Park. Question Submission Deadline:November 5, 2025, 5:00pm All questions related to this RFB shall be submitted in writing through online The successful contractor must provide all materials, equipment and labor to remove old fencing and install approximately 1,300 linear feet of perimeter fencing adhering to the following specifications: o Remove and dispose of ~350 linear feet of old fencing. o Install two new side-by-side powder river gates at designated point at the bottom of Palo Corona Road before ascent to Inspiration Point. o One (1) 12 ft 1600 tube gate o One (1) 4ft 1600 tube gate Installed with one (1) Hamilton Hinge Co. double ring latch. o Install ~1,300 linear feet of new wildlife friendly barbed wire fencing. o Barbed Wire (Red Brand barbed wire or Gaucho barbed wire) 4 strands of wire: Bottom wire is smooth. Upper 3 wires are 4-point barbed wire. o Smooth/woven top wire/rail preferred height 40" or a maximum of 42" above ground. o At least 12" between top two wires. o Smooth/woven bottom wire height minimum 16" above ground. Gauge: o 12.5-gauge high tensile strength Tension: o Bottom wire (175-200 lbs.) to make it easier for wildlife to lift and crawl under o Top wires can be at full tension (200-250 lbs.) o Galvanized steel T-Posts spaced at 10' intervals. Due to rocky soil conditions, posts should be set in 2 ft below ground. o 2-7/8" steel pipeline posts spaced at `300' intervals or as needed. Set in 3' pf concrete. o 2-7/8" welded steel pipe H-braces where needed. All vertical posts set in 3' of concrete. H-Braces must be constructed with tabs welded to the vertical posts, and horizontal bracing posts attached using a through bolt. o Tie-in to trees is not allowed. Fencing that runs close to tree trunks need to be installed with a wood block buffer to avoid damaging tree over time The basis of award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder will be the lowest TOTAL BID. This bid shall remain valid and will not be withdrawn by the undersigned bidder for a period of ninety (90) days from the date prescribed for opening of this bid. Bids will be accepted only from contractors with a current State of California Contractor's License at the time of bid opening.
