The City of Haverhill, MA is seeking bids for the Rehabilitation of the Travelling Bridge Sand Filter Underdrain at the Water Treatment Plant. The project is to be performed in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M, with an estimated cost of $850,000. The summary scope of work consists of the following: 1. The contractor shall furnish and install all components and filter media to completely rebuild the underdrain system of four travelling bridge sand filters. 2. Removal and disposal of existing sand filter media. 3. Removal and disposal of all filter underdrain components not cast into concrete from the porous plates up. 4. Replacement of porous underdrain plates, fiberglass filter dividers, hardware, and sand media. 5. Only one filter may be removed from service for rehabilitation at one time.
