All questions concerning this bid must be submitted in writing to: Town of Longmeadow Purchasing Department Attn: Chad Thompson, Director of Procurement 231 Maple Road Longmeadow, MA 01106 Phone: 413-565-4185 Email: cthompson@longmeadowma.gov COPE OF WORK FOR STREETLIGHTS This contract will consist of repair, installation, and betterment of town-owned streetlights, specialty lights, floodlights, including underground service conduits, on an on-call time/materials basis. Modifications or capital improvements to any existing or new locations may also be performed, as directed by the Department of Public Works or their designee(s) under this contract. The scope of capital improvements shall include but not be limited to the installation, removal and/or relocation of Town owned streetlights. The labor costs associated with these projectsshall be billed according to the contract rates established for electricians and laborers and all materials. The Town of Longmeadow completed an audit of streetlights in 2020 which included the upgrade of streetlights to LED fixtures which was completed in 2020. The Town of Longmeadow currently owns approximately 1,551 streetlights of which 620 cobra heads and 900 various decorative fixtures and 31 floodlights. The Town of Longmeadow purchased all of the streetlights from Eversource in December, 2019. The contractor must remove damaged poles on an as-needed basis and return to re-install poles and foundations, generally within two weeks. The contractor shall be responsible for all coordination with Eversource for any required service disconnects or reconnects. Scheduled streetlight work will be assigned on a weekly basis by the Town, and may include pole transfers, re-lamping, fixture retrofits, or installation of new lights/poles.
