Site work and grading for the expansion and reconstruction of the existing police station parking lot with PCC concrete pavement, including curb and gutter, pavement markings and drainage appurtenances. Removal and construction of existing steps accessing the NW corner of the police station. An alternate bid is being accepted for reconstruction of the bank parking lot west of the base bid parking lot. All proposals shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the "Proposal Bid Bond" form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the City of Hamilton, or a bank cashier's check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check payable to the City Treasurer of Hamilton, Illinois, for not less than 5 percent (5%) of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications. The City Council of Hamilton reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities, and reserves the right to determine the qualifications of any and all contractors to perform the work required under this contract. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past. Not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workmen performing work under this contract. At least 50 percent of all workers performing work under this contract must be residents of Adams County, Illinois. Minority group participation in the bidding and construction process is encouraged.
