Site work and new construction of a communication facility in Robertsdale, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade communication facility.
**As of December 30th, 2025, this project has awarded to Weaver Electric, Inc., in the amount of $158,421.00** The work involves the purchase and installation of one (1) new 300 kW natural gas generator for the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency located in Robertsdale, Alabama for the Baldwin County Commission. Bids will be received at the Baldwin County Purchasing Office as specified. Bid packages can be obtained from the official county website or relevant contacts provided. Delivery and installation shall be as soon as possible after the receipt of order, but no more than forty (40) days. The work described by these specifications includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, testing, and training to provide a complete and workable power system, including but not limited to the generator, the controller, and delivery and installation as specified herein. It is the intent of these specifications to have a single source responsibility for the generator. That is, the power system shall be finished by a single contractor who shall be responsible for the design, coordination, and testing of the complete system. All equipment shall be new and of current production of a national firm that manufactures generator sets and controls, switchgear, and/or associated accessories. The contractor shall be responsible for removing the existing (old) Generac generator located at the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency, 23100 McAuliffe Drive, Robertsdale, AL 36567 and placing the existing (old) generator on a truck or trailer for hauling away by County staff. The contractor will be responsible for then unloading the existing (old) generator at the Baldwin County Highway Department Area 200 Maintenance facility located at 15605 Silverhill Avenue, Silverhill, AL 36576. The new generator will be placed on the existing concrete pad. The contractor shall be prepared to make at least one return visit to the site to complete the installation, including but not limited to connection of the natural gas meter and regulator to the new natural gas generator. The contractor is strongly encouraged to visit the site and become familiar with the existing generator screen walls, overall access to the site, and become aware of the means and methods required to deliver and place the new generator as well as place and operate any lifting equipment needed for removal of the existing (old) generator and placement of the new generator. The contractor is also strongly encouraged to visit the unloading site at the Baldwin County Highway Department Area 200 facility so that it is understood the travel distance of the unloading site of the existing (old) generator from the installation site of the new generator. The scope of work regarding the generator is further detailed below. 1. Generator: Provide and install a standby power system to supply electrical power in event of failure of normal supply, consisting of a liquid cooled natural gas engine, an AC alternator and system controls with all necessary accessories for a complete operating system. Generator will be connected to an existing transfer switch.
