Renovation of a municipal facility in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Sealed bids for the Installation of Garland County Government Building Exterior Restoration. A Bid Security in the amount of Five (5%) percent of the bid mustaccompany each bid. Bidders must comply with theregulatory and licensing requirements of the State of Arkansasand other applicable statutes. No bid may be withdrawn for aperiod of forty-five (45) days after the opening of bids. Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. 22-9-203, the Owner encourages all small, minority, and womenbusiness enterprises to submit bids for capital improvements. Encouragement is also made to all general contractors that in the event they subcontract portions oftheir work, consideration is given to the identified groups. The Owner reserves the right toreject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities. DESIGN PROFESSIONAL: Taylor/Kempkes, Architects, 210 Central Ave., Suite 3, Hot Springs, AR 71901 (501)624-5679. A. Furnish materials, labor and equipment necessary to restore the masonry facade by chemically cleaning, removing and replacing defective mortar joints, and applying a water repellent coating to the brick masonry facade as indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. B. Limits of repointing work are not shown on the Drawings. Any areas found to require repointing must be confirmed with the Architect. No compensation will be granted if work is undertaken prior to receiving written approval from the Architect. C. Chemically clean all masonry surfaces prior to the repointing work. D. Related work specified elsewhere: 2. Section 07 19 00, Water Repellents A. Provide sealants and caulking as shown on Drawings, as specified, and as required to provide a watertight, airtight barrier against passage of moisture and air. B. Related Work: Section 09 91 00, Painting A. The work under this Section includes furnishing and applying painting materials to interior and exterior exposed surfaces as shown on the Drawings, specified herein, and as needed for a complete and proper installation, including, but not limited to: 1. Touching up of prime coats and other preparations necessary prior to finish painting. 2. Surface preparation of previously painted items and surfaces. 3. Painting or staining of new surfaces as indicated/scheduled on the Drawings and specified herein. Schedules of painting contained in the Drawings will override any schedules in these specifications. B. Related work: 1. Section 07920, Sealants and Caulking 2. Division 16, Electrical C. Comply with the Construction Debris Waste Diversion requirements in Section 01010, Summary of the Work.
