Anderson Weigh Station, Anderson, SC Remove defective parts of existing scale and replace with new parts. 1. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) is seeking a Contractor to replace nonfunctioning and obsolete equipment on a 100' Cardinal truck scale located on Interstate 85 (I-85) Northbound in Anderson County at Mile Marker 9 due to equipment failure causing error messages and failing of calibration. The scale will be utilized for writing legally enforceable tickets for violations of the State's size and weight program; therefore, all replacement equipment offered as part of this solicitation shall be NTEP certified. Contractor shall provide evidence of NTEP certification with offer. The scale weighbridge is divided into four separate platforms. o Platform 1 (Exit End of Scale): Has four (4) SCA 100K load cells. One (1) load cell is out of manufacturer's spec. o Platform 2: Has four (4) load cells, terminated in the same iCan junction box as Platform 1. Three (3) load cells are SCA 100K and one (1) is AC 100K. One load cell is out of manufacturer's spec. o Platform 3: Has four (4) load cells, all SCA 50K. Has its own iCan junction box. o Platform 4: Has six (6) load cells, all SCA 100K, except one (1) is an SCA 50K load cell. Has its own iCan junction box. 2. The project described herein shall be a turn-key type project. Contractor shall provide all labor, supplies, equipment, etc. connected to or necessary for a complete, functioning, working scale as outlined herein. Price shall include all necessary mounting hardware, fasteners, brackets, lubricants, wire and cables, and miscellaneous items to support the new equipment installation and calibration. 3. Contractor shall connect, balance, install, fasten, lubricate, calibrate, and test all new equipment for a complete working scale. Awarded contractor is required to follow all manufacturer's guidelines and industry best practices to support the safe and sound installation and use of the truck scale and new equipment. Awarded contractor shall be a certified authorized dealer, Servicer, and installer of the product in which they are installing. Proof of certification shall be submitted with your offer. Awarded contractor shall be certified and qualified in the service, replacement, and calibration of heavy-duty pit serviceable truck axle scales and equipment offered as part of this solicitation. 4. DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK Remove - Complete removal of the following scale system components. Existing load cells which are out of manufacturer's spec. One in platform 1, one in platform 2, one in platform 4 (SCA 50K) Four existing load cells in platform 3 (all SCA 50K) and all associated wiring and cables. Existing iCan junction boxes on each platform and associated wiring and cables Existing Cardinal 825 scale indicator and associated wiring and cables, Existing fiber optic cables and data cables from indicator to printer, to junction box, to all load cells (18), to high-water alarm. Repair any damage done during the removal back to original condition. Replacement Items (To occur after removal of items above) - Qualified installation of factory new fully functional equipment. All replacement components shall be compatible with all other components of the scale. Seven (7), AC Analog Series (Model AC-100K), one hundred-thousandpound (100,000 lb.) capacity compression load cells. (IP69K rated). Includes baseplates, conduit, gaskets, greasing/lubrication, hoses, wiring, etc. One (1), Rice Lake iQube2 Digital Diagnostic Junction Box (108427). 8 Channel. 12 x 10-inch FRP enclosure installed. 115/230 VAC Power Supply. For platform 4. Three (3), Rice Lake iQube2 Junction Box (108425). 4 Channel. 10 x 8-inch FRP enclosure installed. 115/230 VAC Power Supply. For platforms 1, 2, and 3. One (1), Rice Lake 1280 Enterprise Series weight indicator (171427) Universal Single AC-US power supply. Must be able to support 18 load cells. Two (2), Rice Lake 1280 Serial Interface Option Cards. Installed. Run new fiber optic cables, data cables, and any other additional or necessary wiring from indicator to printer, to junction box, to all load cells (18) , to high-water alarm. Result shall be clear communication and functionality between all components. Run New Fiber Optic Cable to each iQube2 junction box. Terminate in corresponding iQube2 Terminate, Test, & Calibrate Truck Scale System ll wiring shall be installed using tidy cord management techniques and materials. All electrical wiring shall be installed in compliance with NFPA 70E. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
