The City of Wichita, Kansas, seeks qualified licensed contractors to provide comprehensive Grounds Maintenance Services for various locations, including parks, medians, and rights-of-way across approximately 5,000 acres of land. The work includes maintaining healthy vegetation and appealing landscaping in accordance with best practice commercial industry standards. About 4,000 acres are currently serviced through contracted providers. The project encompasses varied service levels, each specifying required maintenance tasks and frequencies, ranging from high-standard weekly grooming to minimal seasonal cycles. Tasks may include litter and trash pickup, mowing, trimming, edging, debris removal from paved and recreational areas, maintenance of shrub and perennial beds, removal of yard signs, edging, removal of suckers and sprouts, vegetation management in cracks and fence lines, tree and shrub removal where necessary, snow and ice removal at certain facilities, and establishment of vegetation-free zones. Special cycles and additional requirements may apply to select locations, including cemeteries, animal care campuses, and multimedia lots, with further specifications on frequency, plant care, memorial protocols, and restrictions on herbicide use. Subcontractors are not allowed—the contractor must use their direct employees only.
